DCB Legal Notice of Hearing at County Court

Hello,
Parking charge claim from DCB legal has been allocated for hearing on 12 September at Edmonton County Court.I have not received any paper work from DCB legal and I'm wondering if it is a delay tactics. I will like to prepare for my witness statement based on the PCNs DCB will rely but I've not received anything from them. They are claiming for 23 parking charges which were issued between 2020 and 2022

The court order with the hearing date on it will mention the deadline for submitting the WS bundle,  typically 2 weeks before the hearing,  so you are likely to receive it before the end of next week,  especially due to the number of pcns involved

That court order also has the hearing fee payment date on it,  so if you are past that date,  phone the court and see if its been paid

I am not convinced that you studied the court order,  especially page 2

As for your question,  DCBLegal are almost always last minute dot com

yes it will be on the court order, easily missed

There's no direct call to my  Edmonton county court so I rang the National Civic number and my understanding is that the trial will go on but they could not confirm if the hearing fee is paid by DCB legal or not.

Is there any other way I find out if the hearing fee is paid ,as is past the date(15 August, 2025)?

I am considering getting a barrister to represent me at the hearing so I want to know the dynamics on the case going ahead or not.

Only the court where the fee is to be paid can answer that question,  which is why I told you to phone them !

Nobody else is involved,  apart from the lawyers acting for the claimant,  2 entities will know , lawyers and court

I am surprised that you have not engaged Contestor Legal or possibly Jackson Yamba,  due to the amount of invoices being claimed

A barrister is likely to be extremely expensive

Given the amount of invoices involved,  I would say that your case will DEFINITELY progress to the hearing,  no question about it

For over 20 PCNs you should IMMEDIATELY ask Contestor Legal if they have a barrister available and could they write your WS. Pay their fee. Let them take this on NOW.

This is far too high a risk for any old jobbing barrister. I've seen a car crash of a parking appeal case hearing with the D using a jobbing barrister who was out of his depth with no clue about parking law and it wasn't pretty. Easily winnable case flushed down the toilet (and costs).

    Never again.

I know. Worth asking though, given they need a barrister anyway so they will be contacting CL.

If not, we can help with an urgent WS if we see the defence that was used.

I have attached the initial claim from DCB legal and the Defence I used back then for help in preparing WS

When I received this claim, I contacted a parking lawyer who advised that I should contact the driver  who happens to be my cousin and worked at Edmonton Green .I lent him my car anytime he worked at the market.

My cousin claimed back in 2020 that he has a permit to park as he was a employee , working at a shop inside the market. When I contacted him  with the claim, he blocked me from his phone  so,   I was advised  to make Part 20 Claim form to the court to add him as part of the DCB claimed.I 've already made application to the court

I 've evidence of the correspondence with my cousin, telling him about the parking charges between 2020 and 2022 when he was working at Edmonton green market

When Euro car park sent out the parking charges, I replied with the details of the driver but the ignored me and sent my address to DCB legal

I 've never parked at the market between 2020 and 2022
