Claires accessories in administration

Hello, I'm seeking advice on how to proceed with claires accessories.
I had my daughters ears pierced and after 2 weeks she developed symptoms which they recommend returning to the shop to seek advice. When in the shop they admitted the ear piercings had been put on too tight and that they'd need adjusting. They were not allowed to adjust the ear piercing so we were left to do this.
Unfortunately the symptoms carried on and the piercing had to be removed.
We've now tried to make a complaint and recieve some form of compensation however as the company is now in administration they are not dealing with any refund requests or complaints.
They've recommended speaking to our bank or submitting an unsecured claim. Im not 100% sure how likely the claim is to be successful or what the next steps would be.
So looking for any recommendations on how to proceed, through the claim or an alternative

Any claim against the company you will just be another unsecured creditor picking over the scraps, in these circumstances your typically lucky to get a few pence per pound you are owed any many get nothing at all.
@born_again can comment on if a chargeback could be used for a defective service but my guess is not and nothing thats been said to date definitively points to an actual issue with the job done. The one advantage of a chargeback is that it's paid by their bank and it then is their banks problem to get the money back from them or not. This assumes that you paid by card.
Does the receipt split the cost of the piercing and the jewellery?0 -
Chargeback would not cover this situation.Life in the slow lane0

I'm surprised they admitted to putting the earrings on too tight as I'm sure they use a gun which fires the front part onto the back part which clicks the back in place so they can't really go on too tight.
Its possible the lobes are swolen and thats why they're too tight?
Regardless, as not all piercings are successful then its best just to take them out, wait 6 months then get them done again, this time with a needle.
I've had many piercings!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
What compensation are you seeking, and for what? The product, the service or the medical reaction? Or two or all of them?0

Did you clean them twice a day with saline solution?0 bonus saver
