We have recently had a smart meter fitted by eon ,, even though we did not request it we went ahead with it as a pay as you go ,, one month in we are still wating for that to be switch from monthly direct debt which we where never told ,,, we have always said it had to be pay as you go ,,, i have had a nightmare with eon .. and now just want meter removed and go back to a old fashion key meter that i was never in debt with ,,,, now i have monthly bill which a never wanted the enginneer that fitted said it was easy ,, if you have a meter and its works all ok keep it ...

your post is not clear - did you have a key meter and now you are on Direct Debit or the other way around?

Raise it as a formal complaint - in wrting - email / message - keeping a copy as a trace - if not done so already at EOn Next (if still not resolved - you can then escalate it to Energy Ombudsman after 8 weeks.)

Have they said what the delay is - or have they said nothing ?

It sounds like in past you were PAYG with old keymeter and want similar back (it's more likely to be smart with a top up card these days than key based AFAIK ) - was that the meter they swapped - or had you been moved to a non-smart credit meter before the smart meter ?

Do you know if your smart meter connection to your supplier is reliable / working (are they getting regular readings for bills etc - not say using estimated readings)  ?
