Parking fine

Hi There,
I was wondering if anyone could help. I was parked at Birmingham airport and did not realise they did not accept card so only had cash. i explained this when i discovered i couldn't pay and they said it had to be paid in 24 hours which i could not do as had no money in the account just the cash in hand. i have now been charged £59 so far. i have no problem with paying the actual parking fee of £19 but to have pay a fine just because they don't accept cash i find unfair. is there anything i can do or is it just a case of pay and learn for next time? Any help would be appreciated.
