How To Do A Partial Refund For Collection Only Item?

I have a quite expensive item on eBay for collection only. There are lots of photos and I think an honest description. I would ideally have liked to invite potential buyers along to appraise it in person, but I know that this is not possible.
If it sells and the customer comes along I would not be averse to adjusting the price if they find a valid reason to do so. If this happened how could I deal with it? In the days of PayPal I could just log in and do a partial refund. How would it work now?

Just click 'send refund' from the menu and then enter the amount you wish to refund. The buyer will also get a pro rata refund of their buyer protection fee.
You should never give a refund except through ebay as should the buyer raise an issue ebay may very well refund them in full, leaving you out of pocket.1
