in Credit cards
On 12th August 2025, I noticed an old Tesco Credit Card was added to my credit report. I contacted Tesco on 20th August and they have told me there are a lot of old CC's added to peoples credit reports.
I have put in a complaint, but wanted to know (1) if anyone else has had this issue? & (2) what can be done about getting it removed?
Thanks

Who have you raised a complaint with? What's the basis of the complaint?
Did you have a Tesco credit card?
Why is adding the fact that you had a credit card to your credit report a bad thing?
Is any of the information incorrect?0 -
I raised a complaint with Tesco as it's affecting my credit score
Yes I had a Tesco CC 5 years ago
As mentioned its affecting my score0 -

Not sure that the fact it was removed and then reinstated is a matter for complaint.
Be assured that your "Credit Score" is a number made up by the credit report producer. It is not seen by any provider of credit who might need to see your report. It's designed to make you feel OK about taking out additional credit and products with their partners.4 -
If the card was used within the last 6 years it should be reported on there as it's a factual status of affairs
Your score is a gimmick, nobody but you sees it and it plays no part in any lending decision, ignore it and make sure you don't pay for any service to "improve" the scoreSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Even MSE have a paragraph about that in their getting a free credit report article. My bold."You can easily check your credit report – and it's totally free. Here's a quick lowdown if you know what you're doing and just want to get on with it, or check out our Credit scores guide for tips on how to improve your score.

"It's being used as shorthand for "credit report standing" or "credit-worthiness""Then simply write that.0
