Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
I'm getting back into the swing of going to work again but it's a struggle! At least the days pass quickly as it's so busy, yesterday I seemed to spend most of the day trying to get systems to work which was very frustrating.
It's overcast again today with a lovely fresh feel so will enjoy that. Forgot to put the washing on so will do that tomorrow.
The greenhouse is still giving loads of tomatoes and a few cucumbers, DD also took a couple of aubergenes that were ready. Must stop at the allotment later to see how many courgettes there are!
Hoping those with ops planned make swift recoveries and those not feeling so good have a better day.
Take care. XX10 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. ( by the way, you're a day ahead of yourself, it's only Wednesday!)
It's grey and damp here. Yesterday was the same, with a bit of drizzle.
Hope your dh goes into hospital this morning Rosy.
Sorry to read that you're so poorly Coxy, hope you'll soon feel better.
Not much happening today, not much happened yesterday either. I was on my knees after 2 extremely bad nights in a row, but I slept well last night anyway.
I was wondering about buying a shopping trolley, I've seen a smart black one in Ar*os, and it's insulated. I do a home delivery shop every few weeks, but I was thinking about the top up shops that I do. I do try not to over shop, I'm slowly getting through the freezer. I''ll give it some more thought.
Hope every one has a good day, thoughts to the poorlies, and anyone who is a bit down today.
Take care folks.14 -
Hi everyone
I missed yesterday - woke up a bit bleary and then forgot to come back. It was another day jam packed with ‘jobs’.It’s rained overnight which wasn’t forecast - left out the washing which is annoying. NDN did too so it was definitely unexpected.
I have a charity shop drop off booked this afternoon, it’s almost next to the fabric shop which is dangerous 🤣 so might just pop in… Then Bdog has a check up at the vet plus an appointment with the diet nurse - he’s about a kg overweight but is only 11kg altogether so could do with shifting it. I keep reducing his food but it doesn’t seem to make a difference so we’ll see - I think it might just be that he’s not expending s much energy as he gets older.Hope everyone has a good day

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It looks a bit damp out there. Not caused by heavy rain which we desperately need, more a drizzle by the look of it. Hardly enough to even wet the ground. Not a lot of sun promised for today but to remain fine.
I met my DF yesterday as promised and we had a good catch up. Another disappointing lunch though so we are thinking a change of venue may be in the offing.
Today I am grounded so I have no excuses for not catching up on neglected jobs. But nothing too strenuous! Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and hospitalised ones. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all
It feels very chilly here this morning and no sign of the sun hopefully it will warm up later.
I am meeting Matt today at the day centre with his dad, he is staying with his dad for two weeks holiday but both parents are keen that he still does the day centre, I’ve not met his dad before but he seems nice enough.
I need to pop into the shop on the way back, I have shopping being delivered later but forgot to put a couple of things on the order so I will nip in and get them.
Dinner tonight is something with chicken breast will decide later but I have all the makings of summer in winter chicken so it may be that with pasta.
Rosy I hope the op goes ahead today 🤞🤞
Coxy I hope you are feeling better before your holiday xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Thanks @Scarlet - wishful thinking I suppose! My whizz up to the big town was brief - two shops and gone. The place was heaving, actually lovely to see lots of people sitting outside of hip cafes enjoying the sunshine and breakfast. Loads of overseas visitors. The small ferry was in so maybe folk off it or waiting to go on it. Whilst up there I weighed myself inside Boots, delighted that I've lost just over three stone since January. It's a low slow 'journey' but I'm staggering on with it.I had some very tasty pork belly strips for lunch (veggies too), I must do them more often now that summer is slowly slipping away. Today it's back to chicken salad. This morning my cleaner is coming so I've been tidying up the coffee table and putting away clothes in the bedroom. I'm fairly tidy by nature though some things do end up over the chair or bannister. I've also detangled a very muddled power strip with three things plugged in, even though I couldn't see them I also couldn't leave them once seen. It's very muggy outside, dark, not quite dank but no bright sunshine. I've got a small express wash on, mostly the stuff from over the chair, which I'll hang out before heading out. Fingers crossed for a dry day.I hope that all are doing well or getting better. I'm looking forward to hearing about @DP1's visit to Alnwick Gardens. Hugs all round.

Morning all. Cloudy out there this morning and not expecting any sunshine today.Nothing planned today except the usual housework with me singing along to the songs on Boom radio as they play my era of music. Can't remember what I did yesterday, but remember every word of a song I haven't heard in 30 odd years when it comes on the radio!Hope the poorlies are feeling a bit better today. Hugs to all x12

Good morning
Dull and cloudy again, has been that way for a couple of days.
I also missed yesterday, I had nothing much to say. I went shopping and came out with two bags of groceries and over £40 lighter, although I did get some fish, which is expensive. Prices are certainly going up and are going to get worse, as fruit and veg are set to rise because of the hot dry summer.
Nothing planned for today but I'm sure I'll find something to do.
Rosy, I hope DHs op goes ahead and all is well.
Coxy, hope you're feeling better today.
Have a good day all, take care.12 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for today's start. I think we must have had some drizzle overnight as it's damp outside. We're in for another dreary day of cloud and precious little sunshine with daytime top temps only reaching 18 deg and dropping to 10 deg overnight. It's time for the cropped leggings and short sleeved tops to be replaced with warmer clothing.
Yesterday I dropped off a bag of donations at the SA clothing bank and did a small top up shop at the Co-op. I sent in monthly meter readings just before lunchtime with the statement arriving in my Inbox by 4 pm. I'd used just £25 worth of energy (mostly electricity, hardly any gas) but ended up with a bill of £53-odd, thanks to the standing charges and VAT.On a happy note though, I have a decent credit balance to use over winter.
DS has a day off today and he's picking up my tablets for me on his way here. Then we're going to tackle sorting out the second toolbox which he can take home filled with whatever tools he wants/needs. I wasn't really planning on doing that today but it's as good as any other day. Tea tonight is a mushroom & spinach crisp-bake with spicy wedges and side salad.
@Coxy - Fingers crossed those UTI sachets do their job before your flight on Saturday.
@Scarlet - Pleased to hear you had a better night's sleep, long may it continue. I bought a shopping trolley (same reason as you) but very rarely use it. I think I should have got a smaller one but it does come in useful for taking stuff to the CS.
@AA - I hope you can resist temptation in the fabric shop!
@Gers - Well done on the weight loss, keep at it!
@Rosy - Best wishes for DH's op today.
Have a good day and a hug, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x You've done amazing with your weightloss - wish I could say the same!!
After losing a whole day by dosing up on sachets and paracetamol then finally resorting to codeine, I'm feeling brighter today. UTI symptoms almost gone. I finally got up at 6.30pm last night to find the house deserted as everyone had gone out - not even a note! I told DH I could've been having a stroke/meningitis/brain tumour (dramatic much?) due to the severe headache but clearly the lure of Spoons' £1.76 pints of ale were too strong tut tut. I'm going to pop to the pharmacy this morning for some anti-biotics as don't want a flare up in Seattle.
I have washing on which will need to dry inside as surprise rain has descended and whaddya know, the window cleaner has made is bi-monthly visit which is just typical! I need to shorten a pair of trousers for the holiday as Primarni doesn't do a short version. Will have to visit YT for a tutorial on how to do that as not entirely sure how.
Easy chicken curry and rice tonight for tea - we love it but it does make the kitchen pong!
Hope your DH's op goes as planned today @RosyRed x
Step away from the fabric shop, I repeat, step away from the fabric shop @AlwaysAllie !!
Have a good day everyone
Coxy
