4 Penalty Charge Notices from Local Council Same Location for Entering Residental Road

Any advice would be much appreciated. I have been driving down the same road probably twice a week for the last 15 years and in the last 3 weeks a new sign has been erected saying that the road is for local residents only. I missed the sign and got 2 Penalty Charge Notices through the post today and will be getting another 3 or 4 in the next 2 weeks. Each PCN is £80.00 so this will be nearly £500.00. What do you think my chances are of appealing and agreeing to pay 1 fine or do you think the local council will hit me for the full £500.00.

As this is a council matter,  please post your query over on the FTLA parking forum website after reading their posting requirements first,  they can advise you about council pcns

How do they know?  I didn't think councils were supposed to use ANPR cameras.  Presumably they would have to have one at both ends of the road in order to prove you weren't stopping to see someone?

ANPR for road traffic penalties is permitted.  Yellow box momitoring, clean air zones, congestion charging, red line parking all use ANPR.  It may well be video rather than still photos.

I have got a feeling even if you are stopping to see someone who lived in that road you would still get a PCN because if you enter from the other end of the road you dont get a PCN.
