My Pixel 6 no longer connects to PC via USB.

Rarely-used USB port as it has wireless charging. But latterly the port feels less 'clicky', tho' it still charges via it.
However, the option to download files - pics, mainly - from the phone has gone. I've had to send them attached to an email, a right pita.
Yes, I tried the swipe-down in order to change what the USB can do, but that option doesn't actually appear. If I go to 'Settings' and 'USB Preferences', everything is light-greyed out except 'Charge Connected Device' at the bottom (off).
Is my USB port knackered, or is it a software issue?
Thanks.
(Meanwhile, how can I download a 50-second video recording? Too big for Gmail.)

In my experience the usual problem with rarely-used USB ports on mobile phones is that they fill up with pocket fluff. That prevents the plug from going in fully. If you are going to clean the fluff out, do it very carefully to avoid damaging the contacts! I've not used USB for years - I use Bluetooth which although slow gets the job done eventually, and saves having to find the cable.

Check out Quick Share by Google.  Beware of other similar name apps.  It may already be installed on your Pixel, but you can also download it to your pc:

Managed to connect Bluetooth, and file seemingly sent 'successfully'. But I can't find it...
    Where should it be?!

Has the computer gone through a update?
Just asking as my phone is no longer discovered
But a second computer that hasn't been updated does find the phone

    Cheers!
