Had Samsungs for years and it has been a common issue with all of them. Ever since the Galaxy S2 used on several
computers and it would sometimes fail to connect and then other times it will connect and allow me to start transferring
images or even just opening the DCIM folder and then it suddenly disconnects.

Using USB hubs or using the USB 1,2 or even 3 on the motherboard,  micro USB or USB C it was always the same
    unreliable connection.

I had more luck with wifi or bluetooth dongles and connect through them.

    Thanks.

As for what I do I just plug it in, go to PC & navigate the folders that way.

Phone Link - yes tried it but prefer normal file explorer for navigating folders.

Been so long since I bought the card that I can't remember the brand. Star Tech I think.

Will try different cables next time it happens.
Hi, you can now connect your phone to your PC without wires AND view files and folders in windows explorer.  Have a look here https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/setting-up-and-using-your-phone-in-file-explorer-45ee7712-622c-4a9c-b9aa-a77fb145635e, I use this and it works really well.
    Thanks

Not sure on the middle one.
I fail on the last one (Windows 10 here).

Is your phone protected with a PIN, face recognition or fingerprint?  I had this issue a while back and couldn't work out why I couldn't see my phone on the PC; once I had entered my phone PIN, it was fine.

It is but I always unlock the phone and THEN connect the cable. Just in case that's an issue.

Google Pay is the most annoying for that though.

Need to unlock phone to use it so do that using fingerprint.
    Tap the terminal.

Then it's a 50-50 (actually more like 80-20) as to whether it then wants you to input your fingerprint a second time to pay or not. Very very annoying.
