Vinted - CON regarding returns

Bought something on Vinted which when arrived clearly was not as described yet I have to pay to return it under Vinted terms & conditions & the cost of that is taken from my return money! Even though I had to pay a Buyer protection fee! What a con!

This is an issue with Vinted, they seem to get round the requirement for 'paid for' returns for faulty or not as described goods by insisting their private sellers are just private and therefore not subject to the laws concerning remote sales.

Yet, Vinted take a protection fee - definitely sneaky - & quite simply they will not get any more fees off me!

So Vinted is better for sellers of clothes vs Ebay because the seller doesnt have to deal with buyers returning clothes they say dont fit for any reason ?

On Vinted sellers don't have to accept any change of mind returns at all. For SNAD or damaged items sellers can even insist that buyers pay return.

However if a buyer claims misuse of a brand name, or an out and out fake and many sellers on Vinted believe 'dupes' are allowed as long as you state it isn't a real Gucci or whatever, then Vinted very often refund the buyer, warn the seller and don't require a return at all.

Note this is the only fee they charge and the reality is they have to make a profit somehow - 'Buyer Protection Fee' sounds better than 'Corporate Profit + Mediating Disputes Fee'. Especially for the occasions where the buyer and the seller refute responsibility and Vinted refunds out of pocket.

Personally my wife has cooled on Vinted in recent months - there are too many people trying to take advantage, buyers and sellers.

In general selling clothes is a pain on ebay because of change of mind returns so it can hardly be worth the time and effort for low value items .
People cant size up online in a nutshell or are to lazy so often buy randomly then return when it doesnt fit as they think or imagine the item should fit .

It doesnt seem worth it is what Im saying for selling low value clothes items on ebay .
It would seem Vinted is much better overal for sellers regarding used clothing I dont think fakes would apply in my case .

    I'm a seller on eBay.
I don't accept returns if items don't fit.
I only have to accept returns if they are SNAD.
And I'm very careful about descriptions and photos showing sizes and measurements.

As a buyer on Vinted, I expect an item to be as described.
I've only had one problem with Vinted with an item not being as described.
And one problem where the seller got 2 items mixed up. They immediately sent a pre-paid label for return.
