Gas Meter
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if I could run something past the experts on the Gas/Elec board.
I'm with Scottish Hydro Electric for my Gas and on the EquiGas tariff. I have just received my bill for 3 January 2008, the charges are from 3 October 2007 until 2 January 2008.
I was hoping someone could double check what I have been charged.

= 66 Units
The way they have worked it out is:
66 units x 2.83 x 1.02264 x 39.8413 / 3.6 = 2113.8 kwh = £54.74
The reason i'm asking for it to be double checked is that i've just looked at my bill for the winter period of 2006 and used 51 units over 3 months and was only charged £14.91
I called Scottish Hydro and they say that I have been getting billed using a 5 dial meter but the one I have only displays 4 dials. The advisor I spoke with apologised for the incorrect billing for the past year and tells me that I have in fact not been paying enough for my gas use and that as Scottish Hydro has made the mistake I will not have to pay it back....She even gave me £20.00 goodwill credit for the mistake!!
The customer service with Scottish Hydro is superb!!!
I just wanted to run this past someone and get some comments/feedback, has anyone heard of this type of mistake before??
Thanks
