Amazon refund, help needed please.

I returned an item to a seller on Amazon a few weeks ago. The seller sent me a label but it was not free post, I had to pay the postage.
Item shipped with DPD and I have tracking and a photo of proof of delivery (the parcel was left at a shop next door to the seller). I waited for my refund and as it had not arrived I contacted the seller a few days to request the refund done asap. The item was £42.
Today I received the refund, it was 53p and said it was a gesture of goodwill. now obviously I want my £42 back. can anyone advise the next step please.
Do I contact the seller again or escalate to Amazon. If I Amazon, then how do I do this please.

Contact amazon via your account section, you can message them or request a phone call.0

Thanks, I have contacted them via the account section but its an automated process which give you a choice of 3 scenarios none of which fit the issue and are things I have already tried. Ive sent the seller another message via that section and had a response back saying 'If you dont get resolution in 2 days please return to this section (which is pretty useless) and request help again.marcia_ said:Contact amazon via your account section, you can message them or request a phone call.
Will have to see what happens next. But why pluck a refund of 53p out of the air!0 -

Thank you, that is what I have already done but the chat session is automated and does not give you the option I need. Ive tried all options and cant get further than it telling me to contact the seller which I have already done once and just done again. I will now have to wait and see what happens in the 48 hours the autochat tells me the seller will take to respond.visidigi said:Click on 'problem with order' in the order history.

They give the seller s number of days to sort issues before they will chat with you, is there a date showing? Try again tomorrowswingaloo said:
