Unfortunately, for the chickens, their are millions of people in this country who don't care where the chicken comes from. They would rather spend their money on other things.
That is their business not hours, and if we allow ourselves to criticise them or try to pressure them into spending their money on the things we want them to spend it on we open the door for vegetarians to pressure us into not buying meat.~Chameleon~ wrote: »The trouble is people don't like change,
No, the trouble is people don't like being forced to change by other people.
The simply fact is most people didn't even watch the program. They don't care where the chickens they eat come from, and if they had watched the program they would say "That's a shame" and forget about it the next day.~Chameleon~ wrote: »and I can bet my bottom dollar that even those on the tightest budgets would be able to find an extra £2 for a free range chicken if they looked close enough at what they currently spend their money on.
Maybe they could, but they could also find a little extra to pay for quality bread instead of the super markets own brand. They could always find a little extra to step up from the value range, or buy a better cut of beef/pork etc. Or pay just a little bit more and buy the fish fingers made from whole fish instead of the ones made from minced fish. But they don't because there's a limit and all these "little bits" extra mount up.
There's no point in getting upset just because someone hasn't "dug deep" and found that little extra to buy the things you think they should buy.~Chameleon~ wrote: »It's all about compromise, but then it's down to people to choose to do that and if they don't want to no one can force them to
