where to sell cheap cars

Where can we sell two cheap cars without any hassle? My partner has an old 1988 Renault which is just parked up doing nothing. And his co-worker has a '97 Vauxhall Omega Estate he wants to sell on. Both of them don't have much time, are can't be bothered with negotiation etc...just want to sell it simply and cheap but fair.

    Hi terriermama,

You may get more replies on the Motoring and Public Transport board, so if you don't mind I'll move your thread over there.

Try motor auctions - fees are relatively small, and theres no comeback on you.

I tried Ebay with the Renault and they charge £6 plus VAT plus commision, and Autotrader -waste of money. I listed it as it is, yet still tons of questions, requests for pictures and ppl asking about viewing. All for £100 good grief and still no one bid and it's a decent little thing. We just want to free up the parking space. We have to pay £60 to get it taken away.

Old cars have little value, so the best place is someone that buys for 'cash' ads in the paper.

Then you'll not have any advert costs - or comebacks.

Expect £0 for the scrapper & depends on condition on Omega - but let them offer YOU a price!!

Don't your council take scrap cars for free? Thought most were doing this, now, to prevent dumping on the highway!?

VB, I'll call the Council tom. The Renault is actually in very good condition, very low milaege etc, but keys are lost, so maybe as you said worth zero. Was just hoping to recoup something for the money spent advertising the darn thing and don't want to spend more. Stupidly we were offerred £100 for it some months back and didn't take it as bf had intentions of sorting out the bits and using as a runaround but just too busy now.

lots of free adverts in D.I.Y. stores or supermarkets which may result in the cars going for scrap or to an enthusiast perhaps, good luck
