Credit report shows missed payment

Hi,

I was reviewing my TransUnion credit report today and noticed it shows a missed payment. It advises me to check the "Accounts" section for more details, but I can't seem to identify which payment was missed.

Is there an easy way to find out which account or payment this refers to?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Assuming you are using CreditKarma to view your TransUnion report. You need to look at each account individually so
Web. Click 3 bars top right, click on Credit report then each account
App.  Scroll down to Credit report summary, click View my full report then click on each account.

Thanks for the response. I am checking my report on the MSE credit club, and I dont see three bars. However I see my accounts in the left hand side menu which shows me all my accounts. I checked all the accounts but couldn't find a missed payment in any of them.

I forgot MSECC are now using Transunion.  If all the accounts are showing green ticks in the payment history then you would need to query the alert - what exactly does it show ?

Thanks. While checking for green ticks across all accounts, I noticed that my Affinity Water payment for January has an exclamation mark instead of a green tick. It states that the payment was up to one month late — which is true — but the delay was due to issues with the payment screen on the Affinity Water website. I tried to make the payment several times, but it never succeeded. I raised this with them several times at the time.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to contact Affinity Water to have this corrected on my credit report. My mortgage is up for renewal next year, and although my credit report is otherwise in good shape, I’m not sure if this could affect the renewal

You could do a formal complaint to the water company explaining the problem, the dates you called etc and ask them to remove the late payment.

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

The effect of one late payment marker will be negligible, mortgage lenders do not expect you to be 100% perfect, that person simply does not exist.

They will mainly be looking at affordability, and for any evidence of systemic or long term bad credit management on your file, I would not stress on it too much.

Is the website the only mechanism to pay them?

According to https://www.affinitywater.co.uk/billing/ways-to-pay there are a range of payment methods available and so personally think your prospects of them removing the marker are slim given you could have made the payment on time by another mechanism

That said, a single late payment over 12 months ago is going to make minimal difference to a mortgage lending decision.
