Companies House Registration

I’m not sure if this is the right forum to advise me?
I am one of a dozen of local artists and makers - a mix of amateurs and semi-professionals.
We are forming a not for profit group called Chew Creatives, run on a voluntary basis. We are not a registered charity. We do not charge a membership fee. We are also a nomadic group, in that we do not have a permanent venue.
The groups’ primary aim is to identify regular opportunities for artists to display their work to the public. This can be in the form of pop-up shops, art events, exhibitions, etc. The artists occasionally sell their artwork, not Chew Creatives.
We are planning a Plein Air art competition, which will be run on an open call basis. In order to cover the costs of venue hire, publicity etc we would like to charge £5 per entrant.
In order to facilitate this we have opened a Community Business Bank Account, with Lloyds Bank.
I am in the process of trying to establish multiple methods of payment for participants. The obvious being bank transfer and cash, but when I tried creating Business Accounts with SumUp and PayPal they both need a companies house registration number.
We are a very small group and I am not sure we need to register with companies house, but this also poses another question - do we need to submit a tax return to HMRC, and who submits it, one of us as individuals or Chew Creatives?

An unincorporated association or mutual may be a more suitable structure. What do you think your turnover will be?0

I'm trying to link a Zettle card reader to a NatWest Community Account for a perhaps similar organisation. I need a PayPal account to do this, and a company registration number is 'required'. You may find that 0000000 does the trick.
I'm not quite there yet: PayPal is now demanding a scan of my 'business registration document' in order to link the NatWest account to the PayPal account. I'm hoping a bank statement will do the trick, but need to wait for the next one to arrive by post. That's because the bank shows statements I can download with a different address to the one they post them to.
BTW, I changed from Lloyds when they started charging £5 per month. I don't wholeheartedly recommend NatWest, but the account is free and I can pay cash in at the Post Office. Someone needs to have a personal a/c with NatWest in order to open it.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

For SumUp it states on the Club or Society page to select "sole trader" if you arent an incorporated entity and thus can't give a value
You can remain an unincorporated association but if you start trading it will need to register for corporation tax etc https://www.gov.uk/unincorporated-associations0
