Not informing an employer of change of address?

  • What’s the problem with them having your address, honestly sounds dodgy that you don’t want them to have it.

I know someone who owes their life to their employer having their address, they didn’t turn up for work and their line manager tried to phone a few times with no answer and knowing that was unusual and that they lived alone, the line manager got her address from HR and went to her house for a welfare check.

Ended up having to call emergency services to break in and get them to hospital.

I also know another occasion where a member of staff was found dead following a welfare check cos they hadn’t arrived at work.  God knows how long she would have been lying if employer did not have address.
