Not informing an employer of change of address?

Hi,
What if i have changed my address and my employer still has my last address (not my actual new address)?
I have  logged on to Gov.uk and changed my address there, but is there any need for me to tell my employer of my new address?

What does your contract say? I imagine it will have something about ensuring you provide contact details, including your home address.

I'm sure there's been something in the employment contract I've had with most employers that I'm obliged to update them on any contact details of any sort - so address, phone numbers, even email.

Unless your contract says that you have to keep them up to date you do not need to as long you keep HMRC current on your address and any pensions and benefit partners but other than that your employer does not need to be told. I move around frequently and don't always bother letting them know. There is never a problem because they do not need it. Any payroll letters are sent via PDF to my email. They also did not have my phone number though my manager had it but HR and your manager are not the same thing.

Why would you not want your employer not to have your address?

If you are asking the OP then they seem to have "gone dark" from both MSE and their employer - no login since they posted their query.

More generally? Just embezzled £50k? Schtupping the boss's wife?

Edit : struggling a bit with the double negative.

Did you not think you shouldn't do that?
