Removing ceilings to save money on re-plumbing and re-wiring quotes

Thanks for all your feedback. I've taken ceilings down before and, while it's awful, I love the idea of cleaning things up. We'll also be adding lots of piping when we relocate trhe boiler. It'll also be an opportunity to add sound insulation and insulated plasterboard above the TV room and on the top floors. Have bought a dust extractor to help.0

If the 'dust extractor' has a large diameter hose and a plastic fan then be ultra careful you don't suck up any lumps of mortar or wood etc you often find in ceiling voids. Unlike vacuum cleaners, dust extractors often have the fan before the filter/waste bag, so the waste passes through the fan, and lumps can easily break off fan blades.willferox said:Thanks for all your feedback.
