Child becoming adult between taking out travel insurance policy and actual date of holiday

We've booked a holiday for next year and I'm sorting out travel insurance ASAB as Martin recommends. One of our children has just turned 17, and so still shows up as a child when doing the online search for insurance deals. However the holiday is just over a year away, by which point they'll be over 18, and which means we'll have to book as a group rather than a family, which increases the premium. Does anybody know what the situation would be if I took out the family policy now, as I appear to be allowed to, even though by the time of the holiday, and any potential claims, they'll be 18? TIA.

You’ll have to read the policies. Chances are they will differ, so may even count people as children if they are still in full time education - I know my bank provided insurance policy did, even when they holiday’d alone.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. A 'phone call to whichever insurer you wish to take cover with will clarify.2
