Parkmaven Scotland

Hi everyone, usual apologies if something like this has already been answered but I've searched the newbies thread and related searches and can't find an answer applicable to my situation.

I had a courtesy car and parked it along with many other vehicles in a old (now closed down) hotel car park. It was barrierless.

Today 15th August, I have received a notice to driver letter showing date of offence 17th July.

The company is Parkmaven and the "offence" occurred in Aberdeen.

Does the fact I have received a NTD mean that the company who owned the courtesy car were given the NTK form and in turn provided my details?

Where do I stand with regards to paying, are the rules in Scotland different than the UK and if so, how?

Any advice would be hugely welcomed.

Hmmm well the important thing is to hook it completely away from the vehicle's keeper (the company) so I would appeal using the Edna Basher company/lease car appeal in the NEWBIES thread (at the bottom of post 1).

No dont do the above for ParkMaven
As you have a notice to driver just appeal as the driver confirming you were driving giving your name and address (you have to add it in the appeal notes)

Yes I was wondering about that but it's Scotland so I was in two minds.

What grounds do you suggest I use to appeal. I have to be honest I don't know if it was an actual signed car park or not but I know for sure there were no barriers in and out.

Have you had any experience in dealing with Parkmaven? Should I ignore first letter or draft an appeal stating inadequate signage or something like that?

I'm wondering if they'll persue vigorously.

Appeal on any ground and dont worry or over think
  • LOL, nothing will happen in Scotland - they can't and won't use your laws. You are safe this year. Private Parking rules will change in a year or so if the Government manage to sort out the mess they are currently creating.

But you MUST stop Parkmaven going to the registered keeper! So do as @ChirpyChicken advised, exactly what he said. Yes he has experience. I know the guy.
Thanks a lot, I have drafted a very basic email stating that I was indeed the driver and not the keeper. I stayed that there was inadequate signage, no barrier or attendant and other cars strewn around the area. Would you think this would suffice?

    Yep

Then see post 4 of the NEWBIES thread for pictures of the £170 threatograms to ignore.
