Royal Mail
I've also since had an acquaintance reach out via social media with the following, which seems to chime with what others have said;
" I hope you are well and since you posted this I hope you've been to hospital and had the treatment you need and deserve. I didn't want to reply directly to your post because I work for Royal Mail. Since COVID we have been told that if it's busy we have to concentrate on parcels / packets and leave mail. Despite what previous CEO said this HAS been Royal Mail policy. Years ago we would get into serious trouble if we left just one letter in our frame. How times have changed. Privatisation has been a huge mistake and now Royal Mail is owned by Kretinsky, things are going to get worse."
As I feared at the time, this is an endemic issue at the RM and set to get a lot worse. I think this issue might well swell into a social justice campaign, particularly if more and more NHS appointments keep getting missed.

Still experiencing issues with RM here. Family member got a call from the hospital on Wednesday to confirm an appointment on Friday (yesterday) and nurse asked if they were Ok with all the prep stuff outlined in the letter and booklet- the response was 'what letter?'. Turned out letter sent in August has never been received.
2 more family cards, both sent to Lancashire posted Wednesday 1st class are also missing , but luckily I sent both about 10 days early as I know they have major postal issues - so there's a chance they might get them for their birthdays.
On top of all this some of RM prices increase on Monday , just in time for the seasonal rush. Ebay has picked up quite a bit but on my private account virtually everything is going via Evri this year due to Simple delivery.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm having the same problem. I live in a very central urban area and none of us have received post for over a week now. I know the specific items I am waiting for so checked with neighbours before I tried to contact Royal Mail. It's not the first time this has happened. You used to be able to check with the local office but now there is only a generic telephone number with a minimum one hour wait to get through. I managed to find a contact form (after about 3 days) and received an AI generated response which then closed the enquiry. I sent another message today trying to complain which is almost impossible. I've also written to Ofcom to ask them to investigate Royal Mail's complaints process. Ofcom requires it to be effective, transparent and fair but it is none of these! Ofcom recently imposed a heavy financial penalty on Royal Mail for not meeting its QoS service standards. It would be really good if others would also write to Ofcom to highlight the issues (bearing in mind that they don't investigate individual complaints) - email is enforcement@ofcom.org.uk3

Are you in a position to go to your local delivery office in person to enquire? (I know there are many various reasons people may not be, just if you are then it might get you more of a result.)Hilfsbereit said:I'm having the same problem. Back when Twitter was a normal place I did use that for chasing a couple of parcels, but I don't know if RM help are still active on there, and a lot of things have changed since as well.0 -
Thanks for the suggestion. I've thought about that but they have reduced their opening hours to only 2 per day so I will have to wait until Saturday to make the trip.
