UPDATE ALL SORTED NOW THANKS
Help please, literally at end of my tether. My brother is end of life, I recently let his home insurance know and they didn't tell me they don't insure unoccupied homes. My brother now in a nursing home and I now find I need to find an insurer ASAP. Can anyone recommend one please?

Have you read the excellent article by Matt Finn on this MSE website which explains all about insuring unoccupied homes?

@Alderbank
I did, thanks, went on a couple of recommended links and said did not insure unoccupied homes 🤷♀️0 -
We used Howden when our Mum was in the home. They have offices in many towns. They act as a Broker.
Mum was in the Home for 3 years and passed away this April. For most of that time, Howden has arranged cover for us.
