My housemate flew to Budapest with Wizz last month and said they were fine, no difference in quality from Easyjet or Ryanair. The only thing to watch out for is that if you buy food on board they give change in Hungarian currency (Florints?) rather than sterling. He was a little annoyed as after carefully spending the last of his Florints at the airport, he bought a cup of coffee on the plane home with a £20 note and got a load more Florints back!

We flew to Budapest with Wizz Air last month. It was the first time that we have flown with a budget airline. As we had a little one (ie. families with small children), we were allowed to board before others which worked in our favour as we ended sitting on the second row. Not allowed to sit on the first row because airline regulations forbid children sitting near exit door. However, I can see some adults were rather annoyed because they thought we were queue jumping as Wizz Air employees did not announce about allowing families to board first.

We were delayed on the return flight because Malev forgot to put fuel into the Wizz aircraft! The Wizz Air captain said he had ordered the fuel but Malev insisted there wasn't any paperwork. Finally got it sorted. Arrived back in Luton with not too much lost time.

On the whole, pretty happy with Wizz Air.

Have flown Luton to Gdansk (Poland) with Wizzair and have no problems whatsoever with them. Can thoroughly recommend them for service and -- of course -- price!

Thankyou for your replies, you know what it's like you book something with a company youve never heard of and then panic. Now all I need to know is if Hotelscentral are reliable.

    Once again many thanks
  • wizz air is very good. used them already about 20 times so far. cheap, easy to change the dates (unusual for cheap flights), have not used them for the hotels though.

    good luck!

Is wizzair an actual airline? have just taken a look at the website and it appears to be just a search engine linked to Kelkoo

Certainly is, with real planes, real people and real value for money!
  • Wizz air is most certainly an airline (using Lufthansa planes, btw). I flew with them to Budapest back in April without a single problem. I'm off again using Wizzair to Sofia (Bulgaria) in the Spring Half Term (middle Feb 2006) - they've got 10k seats up for £1 a flight to Sofia right now, as it's a new route for them. I paid £182 for three of us return to Sofia, so I'm happy. Budapest was cheap, too. I used Octopustravel.com for my hotel in Budapest.

I also want to know if anyone has used HotelsCentral.com they are also know as hotelshungary.com

I have found a bargain. 3 nights for the price of 2 in a 4* big name hotel. £96 in total. :D

They seem to be a big US firm.
