ESA to UC Migration. End benefit claim.

Hope someone can help.

I have a partner who has asked me to move in with them, as part of the move and the strengthening of the relationship I want to close my benefit claim as he earns more than enough to fund both of us. I have a migration letter but i am not sure how I go about cancelling the migration and ending the claim, also what information will they ask, ie will I have to give his details etc. I know this is an odd one but I am hoping someone can help. Thanks.

Although it's migration you still need to claim UC, if you don't claim IR ESA will end (although they will contact you  about claiming). If you are still on ESA when youi move it, just report to as normal to the DWP and any migration will cease.

If I’ve read your reply correctly, as I am still on ESA, the migration hasnt taken place yet, I contact the ESA dept and end that claim instead? Do you know what information they would require regarding me moving in with partner, ie do I have to provide their name, address etc, I ask as I dont think they will be keen on it being given as they have never claimed benefits.. Thanks for your help..

No need to name partner, just tell them you want to close the claim. You don't have to give a reason.
