DHL - A warning

DHL do not work out the custom charge.  . HMRC work it out and advise the courier what the charge is. 

You need to refer to HMRC  customs about an overcharge.

Addendum - contacted the supplier who DID put the correct amount on the commercial invoice of $83 - and 'somehow' DHL have translated that to $25,000.00... it's all very odd - anyhow, awaiting response from DHL having sent them the suppliers commercial invoice... more to follow no doubt...

what's more odd is that 20% VAT on €25,000 is not just £51.37 plus their own fee is proportional to the value of the package with a floor of something like £12 

Data entry errors happen, plus some fill in forms in a way that its ambiguous which currency its in etc.
