Morning all, a bit more overcast here, and meant to be a bit cooler. My friend and I had a lovely catch up, we went to our local Italian for a change, it was very warm in there. When we got back I got changed again with us going to watch DGS game. Took Ldog for a little walk, I think he's pulled a muscle in a back leg playing with the big dog we met on our reservoir walk in the morning so just took it easy. I'll try him again in a mo, as I have a delivery coming. When we went up to the training ground, which is very open to the elements we couldn't believe the wind that got up- we were all cold! Glad to get back into the car. I felt like I'd had a busy day so just read when we got back.We just snacked last night so the meal I got out for last night will do today.Right take it easy folks & have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all, thanks @Scarlet for the start, glad to hear you and the mister are feeling OK this morning. Today's weather is set to be mainly sunny with a light breeze although showers are possible in the afternoon, followed by more evening sun. Not quite as scorchio as yesterday with top temps of just 26 deg - still hot enough for me though!
My grocery delivery is due soon and the email receipt tells me I'm getting everything I ordered.Once that's been put away I'll get on with sewing the laptop cover that didn't quite get finished yesterday. I got side-tracked by cleaning in the hallway - hands and knees job around the floor edges that the mop doesn't seem to "catch" and giving the doormat a scrub. After that I was too pooped to drag out the sewing machine! Instead, I chilled out on the sofa reading a book whilst listening to new neighbours' music that was accompanying an alfresco get together of about 15 people, young and old - maybe it was a house warming party. Very chilled with a Caribbean vibe, well suited to the hot weather, and everyone seemed to have a good time. Quick and easy tea tonight of a chicken stir fry with noodles, maybe a choc ice for afters.
@camelot - I can't fathom the thinking behind starting back on a Friday either. It won't be too long before you're on a countdown to half term!
@Izzy - My laundry basket is empty too, I'm not complaining though as it doesn't happen often!
@remmie - Happy new air fryer!
Right, time for another cuppa while I clear a space ready for the incoming groceries. Have a good day all and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Hello all,
I've had a little break from posting as RL got in the way. Lots going on - have decided the job wasn't for me so left last week. Luckily only had to give a week's notice and good job too as line manager didn't speak to me for the whole week! Feeling a bit discombobulated and will look for something else in time, but for now I'm taking a break.
I've been busy with life admin. We have a few jobs around the house that DH and I weren't confident in tackling, so BIL has been here this week sorting the kitchen and bathroom plus fitting some doors in DS2's bedroom. By the end of this week we will have ticked off two of the three bedrooms and the main bathroom as done. We are off to Seattle a week on Saturday with the family - looking forward to the adventure and having a break all together.
Hope everyone is coping okay in this heat. Was warm and cloudy yesterday but very sunny and warm today. I've taken a walk to the Post Office/Library/Village Cafe already today just to get some steps in. Other delights include ironing and marinating some chicken for tonight's dinner. Might see Mum tomorrow for a coffee and am planning a road trip from Kent to Market Harborough on Monday with DSis. She is seeing a friend for lunch and I will mooch around the shops.
In O/S news I have finally made a covered seat pad for my hallway pew (only had it 5 years!). Used a foam pad from Dune!m and a heavy cotton tablecloth I found for £3 in Shelter CS. I used a piece of hardboard that was meant for a skip for the backing. Pleased with the result.
Hugs to all those feeling poorly, including loved ones who are going through the mill.
