Xbox live connection problems.

My friend just got an xbox this christmas but neither of our consoles can connect with each other.

We can both connect no bother to other people on our freinds lists but not with each others.

Anyone any ideas on how this could be sorted out?

It might be your Nats are too stric so you need to change it, i could be wrong

How would I change NATs. I've had a tinker about on the connection settings, but can't find any edit bits for NAT's. Plus when it runs the connection mine say's its "open".

Don't know what my mates say's but I would guess his isn't a problem either, given that he's had no problems connecting with other xbox live users, (just as I've had no problem), it's just when our machines try to connect with each other they won't have it.

When you do the connection test does it say the NAT is Open or restricted?

If you are behind a router and so is he, not using open NAT, then you won't be able to talk to each other. It may be coincidence that other people on your friends list has set up NAT correctly thus it works fine.

The other thing to bear in mind is that they had massive problems for about a week with xbox live after xmas day so try again now if you havn't already.

If you have halo3 that tells you when you go into the multiplayer bit if you have any NAT issues, a lot of other games don't do this you'll just have trouble finding games ect as you'll be able to communicate with fewer people.
