I need to pay CGT and have come across a accountant company through FB it's named
TaxRfundsRus. Has Amy body used them before? I have been quoted £250 plus vat for CGT for 1 person.

Or should I use someone local to me?

Thanks

Facebook advert? No obvious presence at companies house. What could possibly go wrong?

You don't need to usea third party to simply "pay" CGT.

But if what you really need help with is,

    A) understanding how to calculate the gain
    B. understanding how to calculate the provisional liability on the gain
    C) help with submitting the CGT return
    D) finalising the liability once you know how much basic rate band you have available

Then a local accountant sourced from friends and family recommendations seems the sensible option.

    Is it this company?

    https://www.taxrefundsrus.com/

From a very quick perusal of their website they appear to be a "no win (refund) no fee" outfit - so something of an ambulance chaser accountant.

Interestingly the company number on the website doesn't match the companies house record the OP found, but the address is the same.

The companies house number on the website, matches a differently named accountancy firm

Are your capital gains particularly complex or difficult to quantify?  You may find that if you explain the scenario in more detail on here, you get enough feedback to proceed yourself without forking out for third party services....

Also useful to click on the key people in the company (in this case Vinod Madhavji DAVDRA) to see what other corporate activities they are involved in. In the case of Mr Davdra, this seems to be property lettings.

However, the fact that taxrefundsus has been filing dormant ( inactive ) company accounts for the last 3 years, and the only micro accounts filed in 2021 shows zero assets or liabilities ( ie its an empty corporate shell), should be enough of a big red flag to run a mile  at top speed from this so called accountancy business.

Would suggest the OP learns how to conduct a moderate degree of due diligence of his own, before contemplating doing business with entities entirely unknown to him.
