Parkingeye for overstay of 14 minutes above limit

I recently visited Staples Corner retail park and have received a parking charge notice from ParkingEye for overstaying the limit of 3 hour limit by exactly 14 minutes.
At the time of the day, my wife wasn't feel well so we had to pop into a Costa before we left as she threw up. In addition, the time of entrance is marked as 13:00:47 and the exit as 16:15, but this doesn't take into account the traffic to leave the retail park and also the time taken to park, etc.
Note I don't have any actual receipts as during the day I didn't actually buy anything just was looking at a number of items from different stores.
What's the best way to appeal this and is it likely to be won? Is there a template someone can recommend to me?
Thanks!

The best way to get it cancelled is plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum
Not an appeal, a complaint about the saga to the retail park management company or landlord or landowner
Its definitely not an appeal, although you can try the appeal before the appeal deadline, the appeal template is in the newbies sticky thread, I would hope that you have read it ?2 -
Hey I read the thread and wasn't sure if plan a meant using the generic template or complaining to the retailer:
Generic template:Re PCN number:
I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreement and I will be making a complaint about your predatory conduct to your client landowner.
There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn. Since your PCN is a vague template, I require an explanation of the allegation and your evidence. You must include a close up actual photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date as well as your images of the vehicle.
If the allegation concerns a PDT machine, the data supplied in response to this appeal must include the record of payments made - showing partial VRNs - and an explanation of the reason for the PCN, because your Notice does not explain it.
If the allegation involves an alleged overstay of minutes, your evidence must include the actual grace period agreed by the landowner.0 -
That generic template is for use with the parking company , plan B
My point is that you complain in writing to the retail park management company or landlord or landowner, not the retailer ( I never mentioned the retailer ) , plan A, plan A precedes plan B
Ideally it's a bespoke complaint, specifically about the circumstances, which is what you wrote in your opening post, it's not difficult to copy it to the people who can actually cancel the pcn

Of course you can't use that for a bespoke angry complaint to a retail park. If you want ideas, read the recent 2025 posts in Successful Complaints About PPCs (the first hyperlink on the NEWBIES thread).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
