Old shares from years ago in Ceva Inc

Hello all.  I'm grateful for any advice.  I have an old letter from a UK brokerage (Pershing in Liverpool) saying that I have some shares in Ceva Inc Com and I'm wondering if these have any value to them.  I've ended up with these shares as a company I did have shares in was taken over by Ceva. Pershing don't seem to be trading anymore and Ceva Inc Com are quoted on the Nasdaq so as a UK citizen how do I go about realising any value?  Could anyone point me in the right direction?

The contact details for the company's share registrar should be published on their corporate website, the section will usually be 'investor relations' or similar.

Presumably the letter says how many shares you have.  If it's not a lot is there any mileage in pursuing this??

I "think" a UK broker would be able to sell these for you but there are likely to be charges and with the exchange rate and needing to provide the right documentation (W8Ben?) you might decide to just leave them for now.  Alternatively if you have an investment account somewhere (ISA?  SIPP?) you might be able to get them registered in that.

1,000 shares at 23.59 = 235.90 USD = £179.76 currently.  I'm thinking it would take at least 500 shares at the current price and exchange rate for me to take any immediate action to simply cash them in.

  • Hi - thanks for the comments.  Sadly it is just a few shares although (Brie) I think that the price quoted on the Nasdaq is in dollars not cents so US$23.59 per share

You can give https://www.gretel.co.uk/ a go which is a free service though I suspect more targeted at UK assets

I doubt Pershing has stopped trading. They will just have merged with someone (BNY?)

Alternatively, scroll down to contact information at https://www.ceva-ip.com/investor-relations/ assuming they is the company.

What does the letter say? Did it say you'd be sent a certificate or that they'd be held electronically?

BNY is a custody bank and AFAIK doesn't have any retail brokerage operations in the UK so were your shares transferred to another brokerage? You didn't have any other communications from Pershing post BNY's acquisition? These aren't being held by another brokerage you have an account with?

Pershing is still at the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool:
