Payment plan for parking charge cancelled

Bit of a strange one, just wondering if this is happened to anyone else or if anyone knows why this could’ve happened.

I set up a payment plan for a parking charge with DCBL on the 13th May, I have a confirmation email from them confirming the plan set in place. I made an initial payment on 14th May and then another payment on 2nd June. 

I’ve noticed that they didn’t take the payment for July or August. Mid July I then thought it was strange that they didn’t take the payment for July so I went on their website and typed in my reference number for the parking charge but it said error and that it was not recognised. I then sent them an email with a screenshot asking if they could explain why this was happening. Had no response. I emailed again on 2nd August after they didn’t take the August payment and asked for further clarification. No response again.

I rang them today and they told me that it cannot be discussed with me and gave me another number to ring in the morning when their phone lines reopen.

Has anyone had this happen before?

Theres no reason that the payment would’ve failed from my account so it’s not that.

    Ouch! Big mistake I'm afraid. Nobody pays DCB Ltd and you are only the second person here who has posted that they set up payment. The other person stopped the DD then won in court.

    I'm so sad that they've gouged money from you by putting the frighteners on.

    When you ring (IF YOU RING)*

    ...DON'T agree to pay more money.

    Tell them the arrangement is finished. It ends now. They misled you into feeling you had no choice by frightening you about court. Tell them they are getting no more money from you because you now realise exactly what this is and you'll happily deal with a claim form. Bring it on! 


    * Nobody phones DCB and nobody pays. This is a mess. How did they 'persuade' you into setting up a payment plan? I'm sorry...

    Stop paying.

    And don't phone them because I am worried they'll do the same to you again.

    Tell your bank to cancel the DD.
    PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
