Buying out wife before Divorce Settlement

    This smells off. Don't do anything until the financial order is signed and agreed - what's the "big delay" in it? You can draft one and get it signed right now - its just you have to wait for the first stage of the divorce to be issued before it can be submitted to a judge to make legally binding.

    Her putting pressure on you is her trying it on. Who initiated the divorce? Her? There should have been some forethought on the living arrangements prior to initiating it - or was the expectation just that you'd be kicked out and she'd get the house and now thats not happened, she's struggling to come up with a plan B?

    If the "Divorce settlement" is taking a long time, it suggests your unable to reach agreement, which absolutely means do nothing until an agreement is reached.

    You also need to consider what the plan is with the children? If your still living in the same house its am opportunity to establish a new status quo where your as equally involved in the day to day care of the kids & potentially push for equal 50/50 care (no child maintainance required).
