Parking eye debt costa coffee

I received a letter from DCBL debt collection bailiffs on 8th August but dated 1st august stating i had 14 days from the date of the letter to to respond and pay to an alleged parking charge of £170 from costa coffee, Christchurch Dorset on the 6th December 2024 , apparently for " vehicle remained on private property in breach of the prominently displayed times"

The letter claims that they previously wrote to me at a different address and they didn't receive a response. ( i had moved into temp accommodation last year and being neurodivergent along with CPTSD, severe depression & anxiety i struggle to do official type tasks etc. have since moved into permanent accommodation and updated details including car reg docs and licence end of June this year) Therefore they claim i have lost rights to appeal and have to pay the charge.
I have the card payment for this date at costa on my bank statement which proves i was actually a customer and not just parking there for other purposes.
This company has supplied no photographic evidence with the letter. 

i don't recall seeing a touchscreen to enter my reg details inside the coffee shop. My mind was elsewhere as at a particularly dark time and meeting with an support type worker for mental support.it was evening and the shop wasn't particularly busy This letter isn't helping and is now causing undue worry & stress that i can do without whilst i try to continue healing.

How do i proceed? do i pay? (not that i can afford this payment.) Do i ignore the demand? Ask for proof? appeal it anyway? do i submit my bank statement to them? Do i request that they submit proof to myself?
Any genuine help & advice is gratefully received. Many thanks.

Thank you. Took a bit of finding but managed to find the thread. sorry for any offence caused by posting new thread. i have tried to delete it but cant.

It's important that the Government hears from people with unfair charges who are facing horrific, scary court claims.

The link shows the two vital points to concentrate on, IMHO:

- banning 'fee' add-ons completely.

- making sure a new SINGLE appeals service replaces POPLA and the IAS which are seen as not fully independent and involved in a 'race to the bottom'.
