Good morning 😊
It’s starting to heat up outside, so I’m taking advantage by getting all the bed sheets washed. I swept and mopped all the floors downstairs this morning, which left me in need of a shower. I think that’s the extent of my chores today.
I’m going to the Local Pantry this morning, then afterwards, the church hall is hosting a social, so I will stick around for that, and see how it goes. I tried one at the library last month, and should give that another go on Thursday. I think, with today’s, although it’s not being run by the people who do the Pantry, it’s at the same place, so a few people I know, are staying for it.Yesterday, I was gifted a rather large marrow, so I want to look up some recipes, to see what to do with it. I’ve got a gammon joint in the slow cooker, which the meat eaters can have with egg and chips, and I have plenty of my pasta bake left over from yesterday, so will have that.
Hope you all have a good day 😊12 -
Morning all and thanks @Gers for the start. The sun must have been feeling shy yesterday as it hid behind the clouds for the best part of the day but it was very warm and quite muggy at times. Mr Weatherman says today should be dry and settled with plenty of sunshine, light winds, top temps of 29 deg and feeling very warm.
As well as washing the upstairs net curtains yesterday, I cleaned the radiator in the hallway and evicted the dust bunnies behind it. I'll give it a coat of paint before the heating goes back on, there's plenty of radiator paint left over from doing the living room ones so I may as well use it. Sometime this week might be good as it's nice and cool in the hallway.
This morning I have an appointment with the nurse for blood test results that I normally get via a phone call but apparently she prefers to give results in person so, face to face it is. Nothing else planned for the day other than the usual day to day stuff. Tea tonight is tuna & sweetcorn pasta.
@Chrisca - Glad to hear DH is back home, he'll enjoy the peace and quiet as well as your nurse administrations.
@Scarlet - I know what you mean about those "under the weather" days, I hope you can catch up on some sleep soon.
@AA - Sorry to hear the levels of taste/smell you have aren't likely to improve. I know that's what you expected them to say but it's still disappointing.
@Gers and @TA - Safe journeys today.
Take care all, stay cool and hydrated - we're not used to this heat. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.13 -
Morning all, well yesterday turned out to be a repeat of the day before, sunshine then cloud after lunch although we did have a quick shower about 6pm. Seems we missed all the local thunder storms, we could see and hear them all around. Today it's sunny at the moment and the forecast is for 32 degrees. It's 39 degrees in Croatia where DD's ship has docked and they look to be having a great time.
We watched a good film last night called Jungle Cruise, it's a bit of an adventure comedy and gave us many laugh out loud moments, I just hope DD doesn't watch it with all the snakes and spiders !
I can't see much being done in this heat today but I want to steam clean the kitchen floor if possible and we are waiting for a delivery of a table for Mr Fix It's office. Tea might be a simple sausage, egg and chips as it'll be too hot to cook and I'm fed up of salad already.
Hugs to the poorly ones and their family members. Safe travels to those on a journey today.
Take care all.
nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Morning all, it's a bit murky atm but warm. I took Ldog out early before it gets too warm. He had a play off the lead with a bigger dog too. Flat out in the front room now which is over the cellar so it's cooler there.DGS enjoyed taking him out yesterday & we sat out at the cafe- I just had an ice cream. DGS had one after his chips, and DH had burger and chips. There was a huge amount of chips so we got an assistant to wrap them up, and took them home.They're too tasty to waste and were reheated at teatime, alongside the bbq meats we got and had too much off on Sunday. A little girl kept going past on her scooter and smiling at Ldog sat under the table in the shade
It was nice to do something with DGS that didn't involve football ( the fact is that he only came here because his friends were elsewhere
- I suppose we should count ourselves lucky
)
Chrisca, hope DH is back to his usual self soon after his op.Camelot and Gers enjoy your catch up.Take care in the heat folks and enjoy your day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Morning all...I don't think I have anything planned for today for a change, so I will potter about a bit. I'd better try and find something to waer for a wedding next weekend, have I left it too late? Who knows...Friend from Australia was on good form as usual, nice to see her, she's off now whirlwinding herself around the place visiting other people and places..I think I'll go to the wood reclaim place for some more wood tomake a second step. The first one works really well so why fix something if it isn't broken...TA, fingers crossed all is ok. Gers, safe trip. Allie, you're right, it is ridiculous temps. Chris, good ot hear it went well. rapid recovery to him...remmie, did you have permanent make up done? If you did, ho do you find it? My eyebrows are disappearing at knots but I'm still a bit mm about it because I only ever see ones that are way too dark..ANyway, love you and leave you all, hope you can cope in the heat today if you have it...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Afternoon all
I'm back from Devon but feeling rather rough due to sinusitis. I've had 5 days of penicillin from the Pharmacist there but I don't think it's helped at all. Guess I need to contact my own GP to see what they say.
Anyway, haven't got the energy to do much and I'm meant to be playing out tonight and tomorrow so will rest up for those evenings.
Keep cool folks.
