£10m is a significant amount of cover, the average medical claim is under £1,00020122013 said:Update - I have managed to get a better policy for cancellation etc but medical emergencies only covers to £10M) cover and have cancelled the renew on my current policy. The largest travel claim I've seen was just under £2m for a chap who had a stroke whilst on a cruise ship in the caribbean. He spent time in the hospital on the ship, then was airlifted to the nearest hospital which was on a caribbean island, then airlifted to a US hospital and then moved to a more specialist US hospital. He was in intensive care for almost 2 months before dying. That was some time ago but even if you double it for inflation youre less than half the limit.0 -

There aresome bad reviews. even when I tried to cancel they said ' do you want to stop the auto renew?'I said, I would like to cancel and stop the whole policy and any further payments.0 -
Typically you wouldnt get a refund from an annual policy cancelled after the cooling off period which is probably why they ask if you just want to stop it renewing rather than cancelling it. In principle there is no harm in having two policies concurrently though it may slow claims handing. As you say however there were some benefits to your old policy that the new one doesnt cover so were you to travel again before the old policy expires there is at least in principle a case where you could benefit from having the old policy too.20122013 said:MyRealNameToo said:
