Barclays - Error Code 1176 - Locked out from your On-line Accounts

Hi... thought a couple of work arounds to this issue might be of help.
The IP address of the device your using may not be recognised and hence Barclays system may lock your account to protect it. But, this may not be the only reason for this error code 1176 to arise.
If you have made a transaction on your on-line account that triggered a security message / alert, such as, transferring an £amount to, say, another bank or building society then, if you click on the reason 'An Investment' from the drop down menu, your account may be blocked until that security issue has been resolved - usually the next working day.
You may be able to have the security issue resolved sooner by phoning Barclays - 0345 600 2323 and quoting the error code 1176. But, they only work on weekdays!
However, I have had some success just recently telephoning Barclays on 0345 050 4585 (Fraud & Scams) on a Saturday to unblock my account. During that call, Barclays suggested selecting 'Transfer to another account' from the drop down 'reason' menu instead; this shouldn't then prompt their systems to query the transfer as a potential scam!
