Purchase Proceeding, Discovered it’s No Animals

When I viewed the flat, I made it abundantly clear that I needed to know the pet policy as I have a cat. I was told I needed permission.
i asked solicitors to find out and they were very blasé about it, saying we’d find out further down the line.
The leasehold pack arrived last week and I saw sight of it on Friday.
It very clearly states “no animals”.
I am so cross and disappointed, money wasted and the agent clearly made it up as he went along.
So this is just a warning to anyone buying a leasehold property. Don’t spend any money until you’ve seen the lease. 😞

But you were told you would need permission? Surely you would be in the same position if permission were refused?

I do hope you can take your cat.  I do remember reading a post on here from another cat owner/flat buyer.  Apparently the other residents complained about the incorrect disposal of used cat litter at the communal bins.   If you are able to take him/her, be aware and double bag! :)

If you want clarification, then ask the Freeholder. Do you know who they are? Could the FH even be 'owned' by all the LHers?
And, have you seen any other pets there?
Sometimes FHers are prepared to compromise, as they do where my mil currently lives; you can bring your current dawg, but when it goes pawsup, that's it.
So when her ancient dawg passed away, she bought an identical puppy.

    Kidding!
