Is there a way to stop your home address appearing on the postage labels? Weird buyer.

I just wondered if it is possible to keep your address from appearing on the postage labels when you print them.
I had a crazy buyer who knocked on my front door at 10.15 last night to say she was returning a handbag she had bought from me. She agreed that there was nothing wrong with it at all, she said the grey was not the same shade as the shoes she had bought from another seller and she liked the colour of the shoes better than the colour of the bag!
She said she didn't want to return it through Ebay as she 'Couldn't be doing with all the faffing around' so thought she would bring it to me.
Yet she had come an almost 40 mile round trip to come to my door at that time.
Can the seller withhold the address?

What did you say to her?0

Are you going to erase her memory as well?0

I said that I did not accept returns for items with no fault but I fully expect her to now claim it was damaged. I sent her away with the bag and told her she would need to request a return through Ebay and I have to admit I did tell her I was not happy that she had the nerve to knock on my door at that time (or any other) and she laughed turned to walk away and told me she 'Would call again when it was daylight'. Nutter!1

What a bizarre overstepping of boundaries - I'd be extremely disconcerted (if they're willing to do that, what else might they think is okay to do?!) and I can definitely understand why you want to prevent the possibility of any future buyers doing that. Unfortunately I have no idea whether it's possible but just wanted to leave a comment of support/understanding.1

Thank you, it did bother me a lot last night, she was with a young girl and she must have driven to my house but when she left she walked down the street and round a corner where she was probably parked but I spent ages looking out till I was sure they had gone.
Today Im not as bothered as I have had no message or return visit so hopefully I will hear no more. Just amazes that she thought it was acceptable to do that though.1 -
You can rent addresses (I think), or a small locker at a storage unit place and add that address. Obviously they both cost something.
It's a rare thing and if someone wants to find your address it's probably easier than you think.
I can remember something happening to me that was a bit similar but it's probably over 10 years ago. I offered collection and always had collect by appointment. I would then make an appointment and provide the warehouse collection address. That address was never posted anywhere to avoid any problems. It worked pretty well. Buyers received an hour collection window and the address. One customer decided to ignore the appointment idea and turn up at my house to collect. There was no one in so they complained I'd wasted their time and what was quite a long trip, it was something like a 2 hour drive for not much stuff.
That's the only thing like that I can remember and I've been doing this for donkeys years now and I can't think of anything else like it.
I'd guess that the buyer had some other reason to be in your area and it wasn't just a chance thing but who knows, some people are just odd..0 -
I would report this to eBay. It's wholly inappropriate0
