Airbnb refund pending since January 2025.

Hi Everyone,
I am looking for some help with where to go to next to try and resolve my pending refund from Airbnb.
There was a mix up with payment of our rental in January, and the booking was cancelled as the payment was placed in dispute by the bank. We managed to sort this out and booked an alternative and the refund for our previous rental was actioned by Airbnb. This refund has now been in ‘process’ since January 25, and I am getting no further along. We have provided a bank statement and also a confirmation from PayPal (our payment method) that states confirmation of the chargeback being cancelled, along with their confirmation code. However, airbnb have stated they cannot refund until their systems have been updated with the chargeback cancellation. 7 months on and I’m getting nowhere and their customer service helpline is less than useless. I have tried to see where to escalate to but I’m just directed back to Airbnb customer service. Any advice on where to go next would be gratefully received as I am at a loss.

    Who instigated the dispute, as banks do not do that off their own back.

    My friend as we hadn’t realised her PayPal was still linked to the account when we made payment ( we had all gone away previously together and paid via my friends PayPal). 
    As soon as we realised the mix up she informed the bank and they reversed the chargeback.
