Has anyone had any issues with Charge MyHyundai / Digital charging solutions gmbh ?

When I got my new car, I signed up to for an account because it's advertised by Hyundai has an easy way to charge your car and you also get discounts compared to the the cost charged by the charger provider.

I was paying £4.33 a month but whenever I looked on the app at chargers near me, the cost was always more via the app than just going direct so I never used it in the 6 months but I kept it, for when I go out of the area and I need to charge in an area where maybe the app is cheaper.

On Tuesday the 5th I got messages from paypay and my account to say the company had put a pre authorisation charge on my account of £20 and when I looked at my account the membership had gone up to £10 a month, starting from this month.
By the time I walked from work to my car, I had two more £20
pre authorisation charges added to my account.
I cancelled the account because I was worried and I wanted to stop them from taking more payments.
I called them from my car and they said the pre authorisation charges related to the new membership fee and it's their way to check I have the funds.   I had lots of questions about £60 being their way to check I could pay £10 and by the end she said the funds would be released within 3 working days and as I hadn't used my account, she would also refund all the monthly charges.    She tried to get me to sign up again, but I said no.

A couple of hours later I start getting more messages from Paypal to say more charges have been added by them.  I looked and there are lots of separate charges for over £200 and £100 was now being held in my account.
I looked on the app and 20+ cars in London had charged their cars.  I can see the address of the charger and the times.   They were all started within a window of about an hour and a half.

The company was closed so I couldn't ring them until the morning.

Next morning I call and I'm told she's never seen anything like it, clear it wasn't me and they would look in to it, but the charges would be removed from my account.   I ask she calls me back that day with an update on what's going on.    She doesn't call me back and that evening they'd added more charges and now the account is £1000.  That evening I also get an email from Hyundai saying my account may have been compromised and suggesting I change my password.

I've emailed and after getting AI responses, I finally get someone who tells me my account was used so I have to report it to the police and send them photos of the police report for them to release my money and remove the charges from my account.

This company is a scam.   When you sign up, you get asked for your car VIN because they say the account is limited to being able to only charge one car.
I've seen reviews online saying people have bought a new car and been made to setup a new account and pay for a new card, because the account cannot be transferred to another car.
Yet 20+ people were able to charge their cars from my single account?  seems like they're committing fraud by mis-selling their service and cards.

I also have the only card on the account, and they haven't told me how all these people who charged their cars at locations hours apart managed it, as they couldn't have cloned my card because I've never used it.

Why should I report it to the police and be out of pocket when they've failed to pick up on what was going on, their member of staffs have goven me the wrong information, they're able to pin point which charger was used, so the police could speak to the owners and they are clearly running a scam making people buy new cards when they say account cannot not be used on multiple cars?

    1. Contact PayPal and ask them to reimburse you.
    2. In case you didn’t know, it is easy to cancel PayPal “continuous payments”, for example if you use PayPal to pay for an antivirus or a magazine subscription.

Presumably you have a credit or debit card linked to the Charge MyHyundai card so I would also report the fraudulent activity to to your bank and get them to block any further payments and initiate a charge back if any payments have been made.

As far as I know a car’s VIN  number is only used on chargers where plug and charge is being used

Sadly not. Thousands of Hyundai & Kia owners use the card with no issues.
Quite why, no idea as there are far better options out there.

The issue is more likely that your paypal/debit/credit card linked to the account has been compromised.
