Classic DCB Legal Letter of Claim, all this over 1 minute!

Hi,
We've been pursued by these scumbags for a while now and they're not getting the message. A while ago my partner stopped at the infamous Stanstead (McDonald/Starbucks) car park that's been featured on the TV for being a total scam hotspot! We've been hit with a fine for staying in the car park under some rules that were not obvious on their parking signs. Only via a sandwich board propped up against a lamppost? We've written to them to explain we wouldn't be paying the fine and sent photo evidence of their signs with no mention of what we were being fined for but no response, just crappy letter after crappy letter. Now we have the classic Letter of Claim (attached). is this just a case of ignoring and will sending them any sort of response to the Letter of claim help?
Thanks in advance

You'll find the advised response in the NEWBIES Announcement thread:
POST 2 Small Claim2 -
Sorry I have no idea where to find that, I can't even see where the Newbies Announcement is?1
-
There are 7 Announcements threads on page 1 above the list of posts.
To get there click on the white box that says
Parking tickets, fines & parkingThere's one near the top and bottom of every page.3 -
You can always hop to page one on any forum; you always have a breadcrumb trail link back to an overarching category, like you do when online shopping.
See my signature for where to click:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD2 -
Thank you both for the clarification. I've found the section now2

I've followed the advice given and now have been sent a HM Courts & Tribunals Service letter... which looks way more official than the usual stuff sent? Now how do I proceed or am I off to court for real?0

Post a redacted picture of the POC from the lower left of the claim form below after hiding the VRM details first
Post the Issue date from the top right of the claim form too
Presumably its MET Parking via DCB LEGAL using MCOL, an N1SDT court claim pack ?
Nobody knows if it will get to court, but probably unlikely1 -
Yes you're absolutely correct, good old MetParking.
It's insisting I respond within 14 days and now pay and extra £100 on top of the last claim.

No it's not, read it again, properly this time
It says that the issue date is 18th August, that the SERVICE date is 5 days later , so Saturday 23rd August, that you have 14 days after that, so 6th September, unless you complete the AOS to obtainafurther 14 days, preferably online on MCOL, in which case it's 33 days from 18th August, so Saturday 20th September, except they don't work weekends so the deadline would be 4pm on 22nd September, so you have plenty of time so stop rushing !
Login to MCOL via your government gateway account next week and complete the AOS online
You can start drafting your defence using the template defence
If you were to lose, it would cost you around £200 , not the £2703 -
Ok thanks for the clarification. I guess this is exactly what they want, people to panic and therefore make costly mistakes.
Thanks again.1
