Chase Bank Round-Up

If my Chase current account balance is £11.76, and I spend £11.03 on something, should I presume the round-up will be just 73p? I ask because Chase says that it rounds up to the nearest pound, which would be 97p, and I obviously don't want to end up with a debit balance.

There is nothing to suggest that the round-up would be 73p.  If there's not enough money in your current account to allow the round up (to £12) then I believe there would be no round up.

Not totally sure, but I don't believe Chase allows overdrafts (especially as they would be creating it themselves!), so you may be right about the 73p, as it's only your own money that gets rounded up not a gift from Chase.  If it worries you, you could just top up your Chase account with a small amount, or buy this item from another account?  It can't be a common situation....are you trying to use every penny in your Chase account before closing it, or raising the question as a matter of principle?
