PCN for driving in (poorly signalled) bus lane

First Anniversary First Post

Hello,
I hope this post is allowed here.

I drove through a width restriction — the far-left lane in the image below — which, it turns out, is for buses only. However, the signage at floor level suggests (to me at least) that the middle lane is for buses only. The only other signage is so high and small that I genuinely never saw it.

It’s also worth mentioning that this road layout is relatively new (within the last 1–2 years).

Could I please get some advice on whether I should realistically challenge this, and on what grounds? I’m a bit lost as to whether I actually have a winnable case, even though I feel I do.

Thank you in advance.

You will be better off asking over on the FTLA parking forum website in their appropriate section there after reading their posting requirements first,  they can help with council penalties etc

Your points are valid for a bus lane contravention, but your penalty is for going through the "no motor vehicles" sign. I can see they've installed them in the last couple of years.

Unless you are a permit holder?

Thanks for claryfying this - no I am not a permit holder. It's a road layout new to me and I simply did not see the sign 12ft up a pole and behind a tree! :D
