PF Processing RM Parcels ?

I don't know if this is common but .....

Purchased some items, easily within small parcel category, and received despatch details posted RM 48 and given RM tracking number

Received email from PF stating parcel to be delivered Thursday

Checked tracking on PF website and stated it was a RM tracking number

RM tracking  shows processed through PF network and arrived at local PF depot.

Item delivered by PF today

Never seen that before.

I have similar except the tracking also on RM network and delivered in end by RM

It's hard to keep up but RM and Parcelforce are becoming more integrated again. I have a Royal Mail account and they've been pushing the Parcelforce services as being available on the same account. Previously you needed a separate RM account. 

My guess is that Tracked 24 and 48 will end up as Parcelforce services, some time next year. I may be an old cynic but, to me, it looks like they're going to make Parcelforce into a profitable company that can be sold on and then give RM back to the taxpayer as it will be losing money.

100% that's the plan keep parcels sell the depots and land for cash give back the letters and walk away big bags of cash ha ha

Just had an update to the RM app and both PF and RM logos are shown on it with an update note that "PF now operate with RM to give you more from your delivery services"  Both logos now appear at the top of the RM tracking web page.  The PF tracking page now states
