Hello, Moorcroft have been sending me letters claiming ‘they have been instructed by PAYPAL to collect my overdue account of £54’. These have been going on since 19.5.25. I have spoken to them and sent proof from PayPal that this is not my debt. They sent me a letter giving details of the transaction in question from a person and email address I have no idea who they are. In spite of sending a copy of PayPals fraud investigation which states the case was closed in my favour, Moorcroft still maintains that PAYPAL maintain the amount is due.
Is this really PayPal they are dealing with as their letters always write the name in capitals?
I have filed a claim with Action Fraud.
any ideas much appreciated as this is really annoying.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

They are only acting on behalf of PayPal so cannot do anything other than write to you.
You can simply ignore them and they will eventually give up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Send a written complaint to Paypal about the continuing action of their agent Moorcroft, ask for this to stop and for £100 compensation. Add that if this goes to the Ombudsman, you will ask for more0
