Help with British Gas PAYG

Hi all! At the start of July I had my electric PAYG meter stop working and when the enginer came out he swapped both that and my gas over to a more modern system. since then I have been on the phone to them at least once a week with multiple failed call outs also trying to get this fixed as my gas is no longer topping up and my electric isnt reducing with use! 

Does anyone have any advice, tips or guidance on how this can be resolved? The call centre are saying its the engineers who need to fix it as its a connection issue(or say they have fixed it when it continues not to work) and then the engineers are saying its to do with the prepayment/account issue and refuse to do anything.
