Richard Murphy, there is a stock market crash coming

Posted on July 31st 2025

We've seen it before — 1929, 1987, 2000, 2008, 2020. Markets rise, then fall off a cliff. But this time, the economic damage could be worse. Trump's tariffs, political incompetence, poverty, and debt are all tightening the screws. In this video, I explain why current policies are setting us up for collapse — and how we must rethink economics before it's too late.
Trump and his tariffs does worry me, economists say they will increase inflation and reduce trade, so there may be a crash, but will it happen this year?
I am selling some of my shares, I have very little in cash and savings rates are above inflation, so maybe selling is a good idea for everyone.

Of course there is a stock market crash coming,.the question is WHEN.
No one can foretell the future, not even Mr. Murphy or Warren Buffet.

Warren Buffet does not claim a stock market crash is coming.
However he is, building up his cash pile, in the same way he has done before previous stock market crashes.
That does suggest he is getting ready for stormy weather ahead.

There is always a stock market crash coming and the question always is "when".  Rather than diverting your investment strategy when you predict, probably wrongly, it will happen it is better in my view to always allocate your assets in the full knowledge that a major but temporary crash is a possibility at any time.

You need to be more specific, the FTSE 250 is PE 12.1 which isn't a high point
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Perhaps I should have used an emoji to reinforce my meaning but I felt it was rather evident and would have broken the flow of my sentence B)
