Morning everyone
Thank you all for your good wishes for DM. Although severely aneamic, she never really shows symptoms and says she does’t feel much benefit from the blood transfusion. Anyway, she’s had two units so that will stop the medical professionals being jumpy 😂…..her GP called yesterday as he’d just got the results and was concerned but the oncology team were ahead of him. Still super impressed with the NHS.

I’m off to a largish local agricultural show - there’s actually some rain due there though I don’t think it’ll come to much. Looking forward to seeing the arts and crafts of course, and I love the fruit and vegetable classes plus the sheep and horse jumping.
Hope everyone has a good day
take care

Good morning, thanks for starting Allie.
I came on here early yesterday, said good morning, and forgot to come back! Not that I had anything earth shattering to say.
Sorry to hear your Mum's not well Allie, I'm a bit behind with the news, hope she goes on all right. Hope you enjoy the show, I like anything like that.
It's rained overnight, and it's coolish but fine.
I went to Dobb*es yesterday to meet a friend, had a good natter, she and her husband have just become great grandparents so I saw some photos of mum and baby.
Today there's a bit of shopping to do, and I want to look at our finances with dh. Our lives have changed in a big way this year and we need to have a money sort out.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks14 -

Morning all - thanks for the start @AA. Your DM may not feel any benefit to the blood but her body will thank her for it! Enjoy the country show.@Scarlet - I'm sure you'll sort things out well.@Izzy - well done to you. The fifties tea-room sounds interesting. I don't quite have a memory of them though they are so often on TV.@Ruby - I hope that your time with the new boy goes well. My fingers are crossed for you.My long drive yesterday was mostly very pleasant. I stopped on the way high up on the road to watch the Arran ferry chug across the sea, on the way back the sky was much more hazy. The hair cut and colour went well, I've stopped having the foils as it took so long, now I have the stuff pasted on all over. The effect isn't quite the same but I'm not that bothered. I always have a lovely chat with the hairdresser's husband who is a musician, today it was mostly about Indian music.
I had prepped my salad lunch before leaving and was very happy to dig straight into it.
Today I have to take the blooming return parcel to the delivery office for the third time - hope that it's the charm! I've got a towel wash on because the forecast is fairly OK, perhaps I'm chancing my arm too far. We'll see.I wish everyone a good Thursday, hugs to all.9 -
Morning All
It rained heavily overnight - glad I got the grass cut yesterday. The bedding is in the WM, hoping for a dry day to get it out, it's certainly windy enough.
After my appointment yesterday I went to allotment 2 to do some more digging, whoever thought it was a good idea to fill the whole space with clay must need their heads looking at. 8 barrowloads of the stuff taken out and refilled with compost and that was only a small space. It'll be years before it's any good really. Gave up after a couple of hours as my back was aching but at least it's some more of it done.
Hope the money chat goes well Scarlet, always good to get it sorted.
Glad your DM got a quick intervention by the wonderful NHS Allie. Enjoy the show.
Happy haircut Gers!
Must do some shopping today as I have friends coming to lunch tomorrow, not too much to buy as I'll be using veg from the garden/allotment.
Hope everyone is well and you have a good day. Take care. XX

Morning everyone
I had my knee xrayed yesterday, he said it will take about 2 weeks for the results to be back with the physio.
I had a look round the charity shops while I was in town, but didn't buy anything.
I had a good sort in the back garden, some of the plants had lifted straight out the soil and lots of others had snapped stems. I gave everything a good water after my tea.. I've still got the bottom part of the garden to do.
I'm taking little one to the Life Centre at Newcastle today, on the train, it's a science centre with lots of hands on things and a planetarium, She loves it there and has been a few times, though last time I took her she was fine one minute and ill the next and I had to take her up to the RVI !
Right I'd best get sorted as the train is at 9.16, DD will pick me up at the end of my road. I hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
Morning all, dull here and it's rained during the night, still drizzling now.Good luck returnung the parcel Gers!Allie, enjoy the country show, I like days like that.Hope DM is ok.Scarlet- always good to have a natter, especially with nice news like your friends becoming GGPs.I had a phone call with my oldest friend- didn't realise she was away in London with her DH in their camper. There is a site on the outskirts quite close to the Elizabeth line which is very handy for them. She hadn't seen the photo of Lennydog that I sent.We had a quick chat as they were off to visit the West End, I'll probably be seeing her in the next couple of weeks or so.Yesterday DH managed a walk with me down the river path, once you get down the steps it's flat all the way.I have a food delivery coming soon, I edited it last night as we'd stopped at Li dl for emergency milk, and got carried away with picky bits which we had last night instead of the planned kievs, now shunted to tonight.Better go and find my bags.Wishing everyone a good day:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all and thank you @AA for today's start. Today's weather is set to be mainly cloudy in the morning, sunnier in the afternoon, with a slight chance of showers between mid-morning and mid-afternoon, a moderate breeze and top temps around 21 deg. Nights are definitely much cooler so I've dug out a sofa throw to put over my legs as I refuse to put the heating on just yet.
I made some progress on the tool sorting yesterday and DS took a few when he popped in briefly on his way home from work. I'd mentioned I was going to install the new TV and he wanted to make sure I was OK with it. Unlike my last one that was a simple Plug & Go job, this was a bit more complicated and did take longer than I thought it would, but the on-screen instructions were clear enough and it's up and running. Go me!
It's my annual diabetic eye screening appointment tomorrow that doesn't take long in itself but add in travel there and back it takes up a fair portion of the day so I'll be doing some of Friday's tasks today. I'll try to fit in a bit more tool sorting too if I can. Tea tonight is leftover baby potatoes, peas & sweetcorn that just need reheating with a chicken kyiv to cook in the air fryer.
@AA - I hope you enjoy the agricultural show today and that it doesn't rain on you.
@Scarlet - Good luck with the money sorting, not always an easy task but needs must.
@Izzy - Glad you and hubby enjoyed the fifties tearoom experience - it sounds delightful!
@Gers - Fingers crossed you're successful with the returns parcel today.
@camelot - Clay soil may be fertile but it can be hard to manage so I'm not surprised your back was aching. Don't overdo it!
@dp1 - Have a good day out with LO.
Nothing else to report so I'll get off but not before wishing everyone a good day. Hugs where needed, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Hi everyone,
I'm just taking a few moments to post before I get on with things. The family has gone out, Brian to his office day in London, Laura to give someone an acupuncture treatment, Esben to holiday club and Esther to nursery. I need to whizz round tidying as Steve's sister is coming down to go to their cousin's funeral with us, Laura has also decided she wants to go. Anyway, the house is still in turmoil but she will have to close her eyes and let it wash over her as there's only so much we can do.
Steve was angling for an electric piano yesterday. We had one when the kids were growing up but it broke and became irreparable. The last few years we have had the piano which has been in my family for 100 years but that belongs to Laura now and will be going down to Bristol with them. Anyway, I put the veto on the purchase because he has just bought himself an expensive electric bike. I think I might get everyone to contribute for Christmas and his 70th which comes in February.
Laura and I went swimming yesterday and on Tuesday with the children, they love it. Esther was very cute, she said to me "lets go to the hospital and get some tea and cake". I said you go to the hospital when you're sick, not to get cake". She then turned to me and said "let's go to the hospital cafe and get cake". She's only two, she'll be running rings round us when she's older. It's just as well she's so bright though because she's as tall as the average 4 year old. Esben is also tall, we had to buy him 7 - 8 year old polo shirts for school and he won't be 6 till November. He's almost into the shoe size where you start to pay VAT, which always seems wrong on school shoes.
Hugs to anyone who needs it.
Have a good day.

Hello all, it feels cold today, it's overcast and very windy, perhaps it's just me.
Yesterday we had a lovely visit with DD and family and we had a chocolate cupcakes that DGD made, very nice they were too. Today they will be winging their way to board their ship, hope the sea's not rough and they have a great time !
Right I'm off to shower ready to face another blood test, I'll have none left at this rate ! Sorry for the short post.
dp1 hope the x-ray turns out ok.
Have a good day everyone, enjoy your day whatever it holds.
